Hi everyone, my name is Emma. I’m a recent Chemical Engineering graduate from University College London (UCL.) and I’m currently working at Shell as an Integrated Commercial Analyst. I attended St Saviours School Ikoyi from year 1 to year 5 before moving to the Netherlands for 2 years where I completed years 6 and 7. After completing year 7, in 2015, my family and I moved back to Nigeria, and I was enrolled in a boarding school in Wiltshire, England called St Marys Cale. During my time there, I completed my GCSEs, whilst partaking in several sports and theatrical clubs, including athletics, musical theatre and the orchestra. Upon completing my GCSEs, I then moved to Cardiff Sixth Form College in Wales, where I completed A-levels in Maths, Chemistry and Physics and quickly discovered my passion for engineering. I am an avid runner and sports enthusiast in general and love watching athletics and basketball. I am also a massive foodie and always find time to try out new restaurants and food joints ( a good 85% of my money goes towards eating) Lastly, really love travelling and hope to do some travelling through Asia and South America soon. I’m really looking forward to getting to know you all!

What was the biggest challenge you faced adapting to boarding school?: I’d say the biggest challenge I faced adapting to boarding school was the independence. If I hadn’t lived abroad, the biggest challenge would definitely have been the change in culture as that in many ways was a bit of a struggle to adjust to. However, at that point I had only been to day schools, so having to sort myself out all the time rather than looking to my mum especially to help me out was my biggest challenge. The pastoral care at my school was pretty good, but nowhere as nurturing as my mum’s and so it was a challenge at the time.
